come ride with usVolunteers help us keep the stoke high all day at camp
On camp day, we split into teams of 4-6 campers, which are led by our coaches (all of whom either have T1D or a keen understanding of T1D) and experienced volunteers. On-snow volunteers stay with the same group for the day and assist ROI coaches when necessary and ride with their groups on chairlifts and help make the day memorable. When you volunteer with us, you're signing up for more than a day on the mountain. You're joining a community of people who "get it" — a tight-knit community who knows what it's like to live with Type 1 diabetes every single day. Are you interested in volunteer or becoming a coach? Please fill out the form below. |
Founded by pro snowboarder Sean Busby in 2004, Riding On Insulin was born out of Sean's desire to give back to kids who inspired him to keep snowboarding after his own complicated diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes. Diagnosed with T1D at age 19, Sean read stories online of kids and teens living with the disease through JDRF Children's Congress. He figured if they could do it (and know life no differently), then surely so could he. He wanted to give back to those kids for inspiring him.
