2021 SNOWBOARD & SKI CAMPS

How we're adapting to COVID-19:
Winter Shred Camps are the core Riding On Insulin experience. In 2021, due to COVID-19, we are prepared to do things a little differently, but still give you the high-quality, safe & fun environment you've come to expect from Riding On Insulin for more than a decade.

Friday & Saturday Camps in some locations
  • Two separate day camps with capacity limited to 30 campers each. This will reduce congestion and the number of people clustered together during the day. It also allows us to have even smaller on-snow groups and give each camper even more attention and instruction. You can select which camp day(s) you are attending by selecting via the dropdown options when on the main page.

Virtual programs will replace orientation & dinner in 2021
  • Each camp location will have two separate video orientation sessions. One will focus on the kids, featuring online group activities and a meet and greet with coaches. This will happen the week of each camp to get everyone excited! The other session is for parents to get to know each other and will include a orientation specific to each camp to make sure everyone knows what to expect. This will replace the typical Friday night orientation. We tested virtual sessions out this spring and had great feedback and engagement from campers of all ages. Sessions will be recorded so that families who can't make it will be required to watch!

Winter Shred Box
  • All Campers will receive a Winter Shred Box by mail with shirt, fanny pack & other info for camp weekend!

A typical Riding On Insulin Shred Camp looks like this:

  • Shred box: 1-2 weeks before camp — you'll receive a shred box with your camper's shirt, fanny pack and other fun surprises!
  • Virtual: Sunday or Tuesday evening of camp week —  *LIVE* Zoom sessions that replaces the typical Friday night orientation. We will play a few games, have an inspiration speaker, Q & A with a CDE and more!
  • In-Real-Life: fun begins bright & early on camp day!
    • 8:00 a.m. — Volunteers report to the designated meeting place
    • 8:30 a.m. — Check-in for families
    • 9:00 a.m. — Campers hit the mountain with their groups as soon as everyone in the group is ready
    • 10:00 a.m. — Parent roundtable at the ROI home base
    • 12:00 p.m. — Lunch as a group (parents are welcome to sit with kids)
    • 12:45 p.m. — Another group check, and kids head out for more riding/skiing
    • 3:45 p.m. — Group photo & goodbyes! Campers head with parents to return rentals, if applicable.
Note: Times and schedule will vary based on the location of the camp
